Weight range: 10-18 g/.35-.64 oz, depending on the wood.  Just the thing for luxury fibers like silk, silk blends, cotton and fine wools!

Colors may vary by monitor; different boards have varying color intensities and grain.

These Standard Featherweight™ spindles are finished with 9"  Birch shafts, ready to test and send. These may be pin-balanced for superb spin.

Restriction on Rosewoods (Dalbergia species): Due to CITES restrictions and required licensing on international shipping for Rosewood products, we will no longer ship spindles with any Dalbergia woods out of the US. 

Our standard 9" shaft length can be trimmed to 7 1/2" on request and will take off about 1 gram of weight.

Shaft Options: Hand-turned hardwood shaft, $20, in Bloodwood, Bocote, Cherry, Redheart, Rosewood, Kingwood, Morado, Teak Tulipwood, Walnut and other woods as are available. We do our best to finish these as quickly as possible; please allow at least 2 weeks waiting time once we have a whorl ready to finish.

Premium Featherweights™ are $70 each with a standard 9" Birch shaft; $90-95 with a 9" hand-turned hardwood shaft. We can suggest a wood to complement or contrast with the whorl of your choice. Shipping costs will be added on our end. We ship around the world — please ask about delivery to your corner of the fiber universe. Domestic USPS Priority Mail shipping with tracking for a 1-pound package is $7.50-9.15; $50 insurance provided by USPS; added coverage at your request and cost.

International packages are sent by USPS 1st Class International (Charkhas & Journey Wheels sent by Priority or Express Mail with insurance), beginning at $10.50 to Canada for a 8 oz package; $14.50 to Europe, Asia and Australia.  A shipping estimate is always included when we confirm your order.

Sales tax charged to Maryland, Massachusetts and New York residents.
